Guest Admin3 Posted September 1, 2005 I just heard on the news that looting is so bad over where that hurricane hit. That the looters are crawling over dead bodies, in their house to steal what they own. One police officer said that if he catches anyone doing this, he will shoot them. And put a piece of paper on their chest that says: LOOTER. So that justice be done. Man, things are bad, and getting worse. How bad is it when you are crawling over dead bodies of adults and children to steal what they own? Death count is at 110 confirmed. they expect it to rise to 1,000 soon, and possibly more. Guest Admin3 Posted September 1, 2005 Now the looters are getting weapons. They have raided the gun department in walmart, and some other stores with guns. Several shootings have happened, and a police officer was shot in the head. We may have a war on our own soil before it's over with. They need to declare marshall law in that area to get a handle on this.
Guest 92g Posted September 1, 2005 The only suprising aspect of this to me is the lack of government repsonse in La. Anyone could have told them this was going to happen, and they should have been prepared. Terry
Guest Admin3 Posted September 1, 2005 More shootings around that dome everybody went to for shelter. All evacuations are suspended because they say it's become a war zone.
st_dissent 0 Posted September 1, 2005 Here is a video from CNN of the looters: <a href='http://java script: cnnVideo('play','/video/us/2005/08/30/zarrella.flooding.looting.cnn');' target='_blank'>CNN Looter Video</a> I would understand if they were going after food however most everyone in the video is stealing clothes, diapers, ect... You know New Orleans is a pretty dangerous place even before the hurricane. I was there a few years back and got lost while driving around. I wondered into a bad part of town and a police officer pulled me over -thinking I was trying to purchase drugs- and then escorted me back to the safe part of town. I live in Atlanta and I drive through bad areas all of the time but something like that has never happened to me. Since many of those left in New Orleans are most likely from these areas I am not surprised that it is happening -especially with the lack of significant response from the government. On a side note, how bad did gas prices rise in everyone's areas. Here in Atlanta some stations were at $6 a gallon . The mayor put a cap on gas prices yesterday evening so now they are back under $3. Edit: If the link above won't work click link below and find the looter link: CNN

Guest Admin3 Posted September 3, 2005 Now the democrats, and the media, are using this for political gain. Why did it take so long? We were caught with our pants down. No one expected that hurricane to jump two categories, 3-5, in less than 24 hours. A 3 would not have been so bad. Plus this thing hit at an angle. They are just now figuring out that every hurricane that hits at an angle does more damage because the angle allows it to hold it's strength longer as it comes ashore. So, when we were caught with our pants down, not ready. How can we react any quicker than we did? America has not seen anything like this. Even Andrew was not this bad. chance 1 Posted September 8, 2005 Paraphrasing (if someone can find the correct quote I would be grateful) “civilised society is only 3 meals from anarchy†Basically we revert very quickly to a “lord of the flies†scenario without force, and resources (3 square meals a day). Not a pleasant situation for those trapped in New Orleans.

What I want to know is why the pair pushing the cart full about 16 purloined bottles of A-1 steak sauce. Did anyone else see this on FOX? The A-1 was the only food related item on the cart, making me wonder if cannabalism had crossed anyone's mind after a long wait for government aid...
